Dr. Angirekula received his M.B.B.S from Guntur Medical College, Guntur, AP India in 1989. He completed his internship at Government General Hospital, Guntur, AP India in 1990. Dr. Angirekula completed his internship, residency, and chief residency in Internal Medicine at New York Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn, NY from 1991 to 1995. He completed his Cardiology fellowship at The New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center. He completed his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at University Hospital and Medical Center, SUNY Stony Brook, Stony Brook, N.Y.
